Empower…
WAF believes in empowering visionary advocates of a culture because they are the best at reaching their culture. We travel through developing countries identifying passionate, dedicated teachers, social workers, youth mentors and coaches. We hand-select rising young leaders and give them the structure, resources, training and partnership connections that will build their foundations, launch their vision, and strengthen their impact.
Equip…
WAF works to equip advocates with the specific tools they need to do their job, with basics like soccer balls and uniforms, school supplies, musical instruments, teaching aids, access to internet and phones, and transportation for youth programs. We also work alongside them to develop peer mentor training manuals, curriculum, workshops and conferences addressing critical issues, and introduce opportunities through outside partnerships.
Educate…
WAF believes education opens doors, and is the single best way to equip the third-world girl-child to break the cycle of poverty, disease and abuse. Through our partnership with Girl-Child International Funding Trust, we have scholarship coordinators in place to identify and direct funding towards smart and needy girls, who lack access to basic education.
Encourage…
WAF is a faith-based humanitarian organization and we work in a model that strives to develop active Christian faith in our staff and partners. As our faith compels us to use every resource, gift and ability to the glory of our creator, so we encourage our staff. In turn, our cross cultural staff bring real-life solutions with a message of hope into the broken places of the world.
